WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Veg Club Information Seminar Oct 15th.jp

We are honoured to welcome our speaker, Danny Harvey, a professor in the geography and planning department at U of T. His research focuses on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and global warming, and he was one of the contributors to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report. Having produced an impressive corpus of publications on carbon, energy, and climate, he fervently calls for immediate action to stop the rapid decline of the health of our planet. He also advocates for a vegan diet, and is currently writing a book about the numerous benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. This information session will be about these benefits as will appear in his book, and the connection between animal exploitation and climate change.

We are honoured to welcome our special guest the Columbus veg community. The community is a non-profit who strives to make veganism accessible to all. They actively engage with overlooked stigmas and issues within the vegan community such as size acceptance and racial justice to remove barriers and expand the impact of veganism. They take a holistic approach to veganism advocating for animals, the environment and humans. Further, they, like us, focus on meeting people where they are, engaging with everyone, from veg curious to full out vegans. The community engages with many events throughout the year to spread their message of inclusivity. If you are interested in their future events or information you can follow them @columbusvegcommunity on Instagram.
